Job Description
- Supervise the inspection, repair, cleaning, and servicing of transit buses
- Assign work and sort out staff, tools equipment, and other resources
- Schedule maintenance work and put together computerized work orders
- Make sure maintenance activities match safety rules and MTO requirements
- Coach employees , and keep an eye on work quality and day-to-day performance
- Handle staffing matters like attendance, overtime, and shift coverage
Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day Transit Maintenance operations
- Match personnel and equipment to fleet needs and service demand
- Run preventative maintenance and manage repairs
- Ensure staff follow the approved safety practices, and safe work procedures
- Support onboarding, orientation, training, and ongoing employee development
- Oversee the bus wash, fueling, and bus cleaning work when needed
- Keep documentation for absences, overtime, incidents, and other operational activity
Requirements
- Must hold a valid 310T – Truck and Coach Technician Certificate of Qualification, in good standing
- Need at least 5 years of Journeyperson experience after getting the trade certification
- Must have experience across the full spectrum of transit bus maintenance work, or a comparable mix of education, certifications, and experience
- 3 years of steadily growing leadership or supervisory experience is preferred
