Canada Life is currently looking for a BI Platform Engineer that is a day-to-day role where you operate the BI platform ecosystem and also make sure everything stays steady, secure, governed, and efficient, you know, without surprises.
You’d partner with engineering , architecture, data, and business teams to enable self-service analytics. At the same time you automate how the platform runs, you deal with tricky incidents when they happen, you manage security and compliance controls, and you keep an eye on performance. Plus, there’s a big part about helping migrations move toward more modern BI options and ways of working.

Job Description
- – Run and administer the Power BI and Microsoft Fabric platforms.
- – Manage Cognos and Tableau platforms as part of the overall BI landscape
- – Create reusable platform building blocks, policies, and governance guardrails.
- – Put in place security, compliance, auditing, and access control processes
- – Track platform well-being, usage, capacity, and refresh reliability metrics
- – Handle complex incident resolution and support root-cause analysis
Responsibilities
- – Monitor security measures, audit logs, access reviews, and sensitivity tagging
- – Create operational dashboards and alerts that watch BI platform performance
- – Work alongside data engineering and architecture teams to deliver scalable analytics outcomes
- – Provide direction and practical best practices to business and analytics colleagues
Requirements
- – Solid experience supporting and administering Business Intelligence platforms
- – Experience with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric
- – Must know about Cognos and Tableau environments
- – Know how to use Azure DevOps, GitHub, and REST APIs, as well as Admin APIs
